The American falls has fifty-one metres in height but because of rocks on the bottom of actual height of waterfall it makes only 20 visual metres and 330 meters in width, and the Canadian falls of the Horseshoe is forty-nine meters of height and seven-hundred-and-ninety meters in width. Manuel told many amazing stories about this wonderful spot. For instance, when he turned up in Niagara for the first time, he didn’t know that the part of it was in Canada. You just step on the bridge and find yourself in the side of Niagara Fall. Twenty percent of world’s sources of fresh water are concentrated in the Great Lakes. When we arrived at the airport, I was very really excited – I was going to see the huge streams of water! Here, on the spot, we learned that the main part of water went along underground channels and pipes to feed the neighboring hydroelectric power stations. Their consumption substantially influences volume of water. Maximal power of stream we could see in the afternoon. Niagara is considered a relatively young river - its age makes only 12 000 years. The Niagara slope was created by glacial erosion that had taken place much earlier. Niagara Falls is the second-largest falls on the globe after the Victoria Falls in southern Africa. Another huge fall people can see in Brazil – it is called Angel Fall, if I am not mistaken. Every day Manuel and I tried to catch a moment when we could took pictures of a rainbow over the cascades of water. It was a miracle to watch how water was rushing down sweeping everything on its way. Actually Niagara slope was hidden under ice cover approximately two billion years ago. Nowadays there is a very marvelous canyons here as the world’s natural wonder.
